Hi Jim, When I say decommisionimg, what I ment was she will not sail again, all motors and electronics will be taken out and used in USS Helena, four motors, two speed controllers, radio reciever, and servo,s, thats just under 200-00. Its going to be a static model, in your native land, :heh: :heh: for the time being it could be stored in Southampton, :heh: I will let you know when I know more details. :wave_1: :wave_1:

So what you mean is she will go the way of RMS Queen Mary and USS Missouri and become a floating museum!

Thank,s Guys, thats a good spare tyre I have got there, I am feeling well, nice to be in the sun, I have only to fit the admirals launch and the spare launch which are drying in the shed.

After sunday I will be able to reveal where the model is going to, it was a great surprize to me, it was an offer I could not refuse. :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo: :wave_1:

What can I say the new home for ID is more than appropriate it is one of the most fitting I have ever known and for ARH a great testimony to his skill . No doubt ARH will reveal all in due course. :worship_1: :worship_1: :nod_2:

Well all can be revealed . ARH has donated his magnificent model of the Iron Duke to the grandson of Admiral Sir John Jellicoe .Iron Duke was Admiral Jellicoe's flag ship at the battle of Jutland.
What a moment for Ron aka ARH perhaps some sadness in loosing a model but the satisfaction knowing that it will reside with the gradson of Admiral Jellicoe . The rest I will leave to ARH. :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Remains one of the best models I have ever seen (in picture though), must be difficult to part from it. But indeed there would be few better places to go for such a model!!!

Hi Everyone, A few weeks ago I got a message on the site to make contact with some one with connectons to ID, which I did , when the e-mail came and it was the grandson of the admiral, I nearly fell over, he wanted to come and look at the model while he was in the U/K.

We invited him to stay in our humble abode over night, the CIC said while he is coming why not let him take the model back with him, Nick could not believe I wanted to give it to him for nothing, just to have my model going to such a family of the Admiral of the Fleet at Jutland :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo:

I will post some photo,s when my computer is up and running, cannot alter them on my new lap top. ARH
