I saw this at the Hobby shop and had to get it.
Although I am waiting for paint to dry on my 1/350 Arizona, and more parts to arrive I had to get this one started... It was just too pretty.

The kit comes with plastic railings and radar as well as a fully numbered PE set, with complete directions.

I couldn't resist that one either. My plan is to build her in her current conversion which is in more of a Littoral class configuration. Willie Has a wonderful Spanish version build going on in the Calling FFG Fans link. There is also a very nice video of the Reuben James sailing out of Pearl on Youtube. It's one side of her but very detailed. Have fun with your build.

Was wondering if this kit comes with a waterline option? In the pictures i believe i see a waterline plate? And the pic where you glued the hull, it looks like Academy made the line where to cut the lower hull off?
Thanks in advance.
Paul

It does have a waterline option, per-se. There is a groove inside the hull that you score your knife along until you can break the pieces apart. Then you need to glue the waterline plate on the bottom. Only problem is the waterline plate is too big... I've got one to that point, waterlined and deck/waterline plate glued on. I haven't gotten around to taking the time to sand it down and putty it up to make it look nice. I'd almost recommend just leaving it full hull. Also, if you don't get the main deck piece in just right the extra back pieces (that make this a "long hull" don't fit right either. It's a great kit with nice detail and will look great OOB, the parts breakdown and fit leaves a little to be desired though.
