That can't be right, sealed lower scuuttles and the erroneous casemates? Looks like they just substituted a Kongo or Haruna hull. That would SUCK!

The sealed lower scuttles are correct for the November of 1942, they got sealed over during 23 September 1942 at Truk Lagoon, according to Gakken Pacific War series 21#.
And yes, the Fujimi's IJN Krishima is using the IJN Kongo hull(not IJN Haruna's different portholes, etc), since it was exactly the same.

That is quite hard to see in the 1/700 scale, and only few experts can distinguish it.
The new Fujimi's IJN Kirishima is a further improve on the IJN Kongo class by Fujimi. You will notice it when you will open the box.

I can't agree about the casemates, Atma. It's quite obvious, and at this point, most people know about the original error. Fujimi was just keeping its costs down, or being cheap.

I await to see the other new improvements.

Yes, I would like to represnt the boat davit in folding position but I cant find a picture of that particular boat davit folded, also the object in the hull that look like a pipe(whats the name of that object ?) obstruct the boat davit from folding right while in the left position there is the secondary 15 cm gun.

I don't know for certain what the pipe is but, I believe it is a scupper pipe from the upper deck. In the Kirishima attachment below, you can see the opening at its bottom.

As far as the davits go, a quick scan of my jpegs only reveals a few photos. My sense is that the davits stow in opposite directions. I'll do so more looking. The plan is from the Miyukikai site.

I still think they have to fold in opposite directions, forward davit goes forward, aft davit folds aft; otherwise, they interfere with the arc of the casemate gun.
