HMS Crane [modified Black Swan class] - camouflage colours?

Hi,

my first post on this excellent site. I've got the ship-building bug again and am near to completing a WEM HMS Shearwater. The last ship model I finished was about 30 years ago! Airfix HMS Belfast in Korean War fit, for my father who served on her during that time period (later in the 1950s on Swiftsure, Sheffield, Manxman - the last I actually went on as a small child too).

I have query concerning the lovely photograph of HMS Crane, page 94 of the David Williams book on naval camouflage. It is said to be an Admiralty Light Disruptive scheme of MS2, MS3 and MS4A but the two darkest colours look too dark for this. Is this simply a photographic effect (and the colour sheme is taken directly from an archive drawing) or are the colours something else? Considering the time period the other possibilities might be G10, B30 and G45 (or B55) - even the somewhat similar scheme shown for HMS Riou (page 49 of Raven's vol.3) of G5, B30 and B55?
