this has been my first build of a ship since the revell ships of the 50's.
has to be one of the finest produced ship kits in production today.
assembly was very straight foreward. No major fit problems.
I used the photo etched parts in the kit as well as a set of Gold Metal photo etched gearing parts.
will include pics shortly.

Re: DRAGON 1/350 USS GEARING
Al, can't wait to see your pics. I have Gearing in my stash. I had a similar experience to you when I started on Dragon's Laffey, the first real ship kit I'd built since the 1960s. Wow, I couldn't believe how far things have come since then. The degree of detail was mind boggling. A far cry from say Revell's U.S.S. Buckley. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be waiting expectantly for photos of your work. Are you planning a WIP thread?
