Is the waterline plate really that important? Can't you just make one out of a sheet of 0.5mm styrene?

One more comment on the RM Vittorio Veneto and RM Littorio in 1/700 release by Trumpeter/Pit-Road. Why the hull it doesn't have the boat davits in folded position(or in normal position as a separate part) like in the RN Roma's hull ?
Also now comparing the 3 ships, I can see clear that the RM Roma's hull is far better looking that the RM Vittorio Veneto and RM Littorio.

That joke isn't funny anymore, the 155 mm secondary barrels are so fragile ! Anyone can recomend me a brass barrel replacement ?
Thanks in advance.

Quick question, both RM Littorio and Vittorio Veneto in 1/700 by Trumpeter/Pit-Road come with 13 double 20mm AA guns, is that correct ?
I always though that the 1943 RM Roma had larger numbers of small AA guns than RM Littorio and Vittorio Veneto's 1940/1941 configuration.
Thanks in advance.

As both Littorio and Vittorio Veneto were torpedoed many times, they didn't lack time to get retrofitted with a more powerful suite of light AA, while Roma got his own increased while still being fitted out. Both the first two ships originally had only 8 20 mm twin mounts; in 1942, Littorio received 6 new mounts, equalling Roma's 14, and Vittorio Veneto had 8, thus detaining the record for the most heavily armed ship of the class.

So, Im a bit confused.
Trumpeter's RM Vittorio Veneto(and RM Littorio) in 1/700 has 13 double 20mm, 4 single 37mm and 8 double 37 mm AA guns.
Trumpeter's RM Vittorio Veneto is a 1940 mode(and RM Littorio is a 1941 mode).
Is that AA suit correct for a 1940 mod(and 1941 mode for Littorio) ?
Thanks in advance.

Well, from 1940 till 1942 both ships only had 8 20 mm twin mounts; at least the number of 37 mm guns is right.

By the way, all guns were always embarked in pairs, so it wouldn't be correct to have 13 mounts in any case.

Well then the Trumpeter's RM Littorio and RM Vittorio Veneto has a wrong number of double 20mm AA. Littorio is stated for a 1941 version and Vittorio Veneto for a 1940 version.
Can you point me the locations of the AA suit of RM Vittorio Veneto's AA gun in 1940 ?
Thanks in advance.

Trumpeter's RM Littorio light AA guns for a 1941 RM Littorio is 13 double 20 mm 4 single 37 mm (in the bow) and 8 double 37 mm. Same for the 1940 RM Vittorio Veneto, wich I guess is wrong ?

Okay I studing the instuction of RN Vittorio Veneto, Italian Battleship, Regia Marina 1:700 Scale.
Trumpeter's RM Vittorio Veneto label the battleship as a 1940 version, but accordig to the Regia Marina's kit, the RM Vittorio Veneto didnt had on her forward 152 mm secondary guns double 20mm AA guns picture from the Trumpeter's instructions:

Neither on the number 3 main turret:

Also those:

Shall I not use those double 20mm AA guns for a 1940 version of RM Vittorio Veneto ?
Thanks in advance.

I can tell you for sure that the mounts on the bandstands on the fore 152 mm turrets and those near the aft main turret barbette were not there until 1942. Neither were there the two mounts on the boat deck: they were on the main deck below, instead; so yes, you spotted the right guns that shouldn't be there :thumbs_up_1:

So Trumpeter mixed up the 20 mm AA guns as both ship are from 1940 (RM Vittorio Veneto) and (RM Littorio)1941.

By the way, this gun was present on a 1940 RM Vittorio Veneto ?

Yes, it was; there should be another one in its same position, starboard side. Of course, no boat was carried on the main deck, as to not impair the firing sector of the guns.
