Oh one last thing, I should know this being such a huge IJN fan that I am but, for a battleship, which is the proper look for a Type 21 radar look like? I ask this because all of the photo-etch Type 21 radars that I have, be they from lionroar, flyhawk or flyhawk's fuso photo-etch kit all are different.

Veteran Models VTW70010 (resin) and FlyHawk FH700022 (PE) sets include Type 95 25mm gun controllers. The first set, IMHO, is intended for someone eager to break own eyes, finding what is where...

By the way, are you sure the part #16 on the photo is a gun controller? This part seems to correspond to part #4 on the instruction sheet, which looks like a binocular, not a controller.

There is no proper look for a type 21 radar. I mean, Imperia Japanese Battleships had a standard type, then again IJN Yamato class had a different in dimensions type 21 radar. As for Imperial Japeasen Heavy and Light Cruisers, there is also two different types.

Thanks Atma for the Response, Yeah i did know that Yamato's and light cruisers were different, its just for example when you look at the flyhawks type 21 from there fuso photo-etch kit there, type 21 has a much smaller grid squares than lionroars 21's. how ever i have seen that the new flyhawk ijn radar set has the larger square grids and no front on the radar. that is the radet has a back and top and bottom, both sides and no front. Ill see if i can find a pic for you if I'm not making any sense to clarify

As you can see from this Flyhawk release there was 6 different types of type 21 radar:

Hey guys one last question about fuso in 1944 the first is in the rear of the tower above of the two triple MGs what was the type of range finders there? Aroshima's has two dome like rangefinders up there but the new fujimi kit has what looks like the type 95 ( shiki kuju shageki sochi) MG fire directors placed there in stead. And the last question is i have recently came across someones fuso project and the have right under the bridge two bulges right behind the two forward triples and they have singles in there. I am unaware of this add on dose any one know of this add on ? il get likes and a pic up asap! thanks guys

Here is a picture of IJN Fuso from the AOTS book:
The single AA guns where added in 1944 and the rangefinders you talk about, actually they are not rangefinders, those are binoculars in the lookout post. They had protected shileds wich where removed only in 1944. The 3,5 rangefinders missing in the front AA platform of IJN Fuso(just above number 2# turret) in the AOTS book is actually a mistke from the author , a printing error.
Image
In the Fujimi model the "dome" is not missing, is just missing from the build up model cause of a mistake from the modeler that Fujimi use.
Image
Later build models from Fujimi have this error corrected.

Unfortunately, Aoshima's IJN Fuso in 1944 mode have the binoculars in the lookout post still in protected shield. Those need to be removed and be opened.

If you are building the Aoshima's IJN Fuso in a 1941 period is more easy to finnish it without mistakes. The 1938 version too from Aoshima. The 1944 vesion is where Aoshima mess up.

yeah unfortunately I'm about 86% done with her in her 1944 look. its just adding in all of the new details and info that's taking so much time with her. i was like 65% done with her when the new Fujimi fuso came out and then i noticed all of the differences in her :(

Its wise to compare your build to the 1/350 IJN Fuso by Fujimi cause is the most accurate depiction of an 1944 IJN Fuso at the moment.

IJN Yamashiro's available infromation after 1943 is scarce, IJN Yamashiro's equipent after 1943 is the most obscure subject among all the Japanese Imperial Battleships.
So I suggest to model Aoshima's IJN Yamashiro in early war configuration.

Ah yes I just ripped of the plastic wrap on my IJN Yamashiro on the 20th !! Im about 93% done with my IJN Fuso. i would post pics but i still need to re-size them down due to there to big. i just need to do Rigging and look for this "Dai Riki .002 that Dan kaplan uses on his ships but i haven't been able to find it anywhere. than and possible weathering and a few minor bridge accessories.

Oh I did forget to ask! its too late for my Fuso but for my Yamashiro, how dose the aircraft handling crane fold down on the fantail of the ship? is it like the Kongo class or do they side down like a antenna?
