Bare-metal foil might actually do the trick. It'd be easier to make the crinkled edges and small holes but I'm not sure if it would be rigid enough.

Denegration of Italians is still a problem? Last time I was in London (well Gatwick) some English woman was referring to the waitress as a NAZI because she was German. I gave her a dirty look. She started to say somthing to me after she saw me looking at her but i cut her off: "I'm half German, half Irish, all American from Texas. Keep moving. She shut up and she and her husband went to their table. That was in 2006, the last time I had heard somebody use NAZI and German interchangably was back in the 1970s.
