Re: 1/72 Yamato - or a steep learning curve!
Just an update
have settled into new place to live, and construction re commenced - on the 25 mm guns at the moment, very tricky
Photos when something decent to show.
But this project is still going !
Lots of travel ahead, so thats why I will stick to little things

Can't wait to see those 25mm AA guns .A club member is working on a 1/96 scale Mogami and he will have to tackle them too .

to say its been difficult to do anything lately has been an understatement.
travel, no room, more travel, work, you know the story
Finally got a small area set up, and can poke at the job occasionally
The dream lives on

Re: 1/72 Yamato - or a steep learning curve!

I have no idea what the mechanisms are, but there are screw pieces going across the bottom, and three plates of another brace.
(all that makes no sence with out a picture of a 25mm gun to look at, but whatever, the pieces are there, so i am making them
again, photo is crud.
can't wait to finish some of these, take home interstate, get wife to photo with her camera

I hope this helps in Your endeavour to see how the mechanisms work, or at least how they would work.

Re: 1/72 Yamato - or a steep learning curve!

I have literally been around the world with work and travels these last few months, so progress has been limited, but I am now ramping back up again
It takes about a day to build 6 guns
16 done, other 14 about 50%
We continue on
wish i had a proper camera

I see your forging ahead with your work on the Yamato. Well done. Last weekend in Wagga there was a show in which a Yamato was running. Looks great on the water. Hope to catch up again one day. It's a scale 1/72 also. More shots of the weekend can be found at this link https://picasaweb.google.com/117406019355179963375
