Hi Dave!
Your'e right. The hull of a Kirov is about 3.5meters long
. But first I must bring my work here on the Krivak to an end and then comes the Udaloy and Sovremenny.
I hope that a Friend of me will built the Slava. And a Dream is the Kusnetzov in 1/72 and the Beresina also, these ships were a perfekt Battlegroup i think, do you?
Greeting
Martin

Hello!
Here is a closer shot of my Krivak hull.
The hull has a few air holes but I think for the first time Ive worked with these materials its not really bad.
A little putty, sanding and e voila

I started with the big one - 1/72 Admiral Kuznetsov. I was planing to fiberglass it this weekend but the weather has let me down here. Last few months sunny hot clear days and now I have time of work it rains. The model is to big to work indoors when I fiberglass so I have to wait a little longer. I have been asked by friends here in my local clubs if I plan to do a scale 1/72 Kirov hull also, I said yes but down the track. Already have some real good drawings of her and most others in the Russian Navy.
Pitty your not a local we could really have fun with these models in Sydney Australia.

Have begun looking for a good set of plans to build from. I see plans on some of the Russian modelling sites along with some great models but, cannot access due to having a US IP.
Is there a source for Krivak plans?

*IF* There was a 1/350 model of a Krivak, would you want a I/II or even maybe a III?

Easy, I would have a kit that I could chose myself which to build of the one hull. But I guess I would like a Krivak 3 myself.Sean Hert wrote:*IF* There was a 1/350 model of a Krivak, would you want a I/II or even maybe a III?

Doing a I/II kit is possible, but the superstructure differences between I/II and III I think preclude an all-in-one kit.ozpirate wrote:Easy, I would have a kit that I could chose myself which to build of the one hull. But I guess I would like a Krivak 3 myself.

Bleh, who wants a mere Border Guard boat...
Though the blue and white scheme would be very cool.
That being said - Krivak I!

Re: Calling all Krivak I class (FFG) fans
I'm doing the more sensibly sized (and easier to make!) Skywave 1/700 Krivak right now and have a few questions.
Am I right in thinking the only difference between a Krivak 1 and 2 was the Krivak 1 had 2 twin 76mm guns and the Krivak 2 had 2 single 100mm guns? If so where can I get the singel 100mm guns and turrets to make my second Krivak into a Krivak 2.
Which Krivaks if any, were in the Russian Pacific fleet, let 80's, through the 90's?
thanks
Mike

Mike-
There are few more differences in sensors/illuminator/directors, and minor differences in superstructure.

Thanks Sean.
Perhaps i'm better off trying to pick up the Skywave Krivak 2 then. Does it have all the changes represented in the kit?
thanks

Also, does anyone have a source for hull plans? Given there are no 1/350 kits, I would like to build one!
