Hi Kim,

I've received one of these sets in the mail, and I've very happy with it. You've done nice work with it.

One side issue I have is with the instructions. On the overhead diagram, I'm having a terrible time seeing the red/orange part numbers from the background color. This may be my color blindness making things more difficult.

Would you happen to have a .pdf file of these instructions with a different background color? It would help my eyes greatly.

Thanks,

No these pedestals don't.

Hi I'm in the process of building Dreadnaught with your set. There seems to be a couple of inclined ladders missing, those that replace kit parts: D 41
Also which ladders are to be used to replace D 43's?

Thanks
David Gatt

Dear David Gatt

Pontos Dreadnought detail up set is inclued some spare ladders.
You can substitue PE parts 112 for kit parts D41 .
and PE parts 114 or 113 are good substitute for D43's.
But 114 and 113 are just one spare.
I'll send you some spare PE ladder parts if you want.

Thanks

Yes please the ladders that replace D41 should be inclined, so I'd appreciate some additional ladders

Thanks

Hey Chris, so it begins, the mystery parts that Pontos never bothered to explain
I was just looking at this today and I think that they are for the search lights. Actually if you look at the photo a few posts up you can see them very clearly. on the two search lights on the bridge wings.

Well spotted.
I'm assuming parts 177 are the antenna cable spreaders

I also have found the instructions hard to read and incomplete. I sent an E-mail to Pontos two months ago outlining the things I found. According to a Pontos post on this forum, a revised instruction sheet would be available, so I have held off posting my list. Again, that was two months ago. So, here is my list with corrections. Updates are posted in color. If anyone can add to it, that would be great. I do like the set and hopefully an updated instruction sheet will be available soon.

The following PE parts are not shown on the instructions:
12 - rear superstructure railing?
31 - shown on updated post from Pontos on this thread
32 - shown on updated post from Pontos on this thread
33 - shown on updated post from Pontos on this thread
40 - unknown
46 - unknown
52 - search lights?
56 - unknown
68 - unknown
105 - unknown
112 - unknown
114 - unknown - replace kit ladder 43?
115 - unknown
116 - unknown
127 - unknown
128 - unknown
131 - unknown
132 - unknown
166 - unknown
169 - unknown
177 - antenna spreaders?
178 - unknown
184 - unknown
186 - unknown
187 - unknown

In addition to this, I have found the following problems.

The instructions show the placement for two PE part # 113s, but three are provided. Is the third 113 a spare?

PE part # 129 is shown as two different parts on the instructions.

There are no PE parts # 148 and 149 on the fret or the instructions.

PE parts 179, 180 and 185 call for multiple copies to be made on the instructions, but do not detail where they go.

The placement of PE parts # 14 and # 200 are transposed.

Shaun
