First I measured the size of the floor, marked this onto a piece of card and then secured it to the cutting mate with clear tape. I then marked the position of the ships wheel and placed the four support planks onto the card. Starting from the centre working outwards I glued each individual plank in place using white PVA glue. I used a piece of 1mm thick brass to space each of the 3mm wide planks.

To complete the telegraph I turned a pedestal with a taper from 10mm brass on my lathe. I produced the dial detail on my PC using microsoft publisher with the black face and white markings only measuring 11mm in diameter. I printed it on plain white paper on the draft setting, cut it out and glued it in place with 'Pritt Stick' paper glue.
Time to finish off the hull ready for painting so I have to tacke the six wash ports. First I marked out the positions, then drilled some holes to allow me to file to shape.
Hi Tiny I would most certainly like to see more of this superb build . Your lathe work adds so much to the detail and the telegraph pedestal is a little gem in its own right .

The next stage was to fit the wooden rubbing strips around the hull. I cut each section into 6 inch (150mm) lengths and glued them in place. I roughed up the edges to simulate the wear and tear they would get during the tugs working life. Next I drilled and pinned along the top edge to simulated the holding pins. These can be seen in the second photo.
