I can't wait to get my hands on one of these so I can finally build my Captain Hara Shigure. It surprises me that no one to my knowledge has made a model named the Shigure (sister ship) after what it went through during the war. Hara made it sound like it was one of the most famous IJN destroyers of the war.

I'm sure someone on this board is working on one at this point. I've got plans to use the initial Fujimi Shiratsuyu kit of 2 to make an early war Yudachi & mid-war Samidare. At some point, I'll get to a late war Shigure.

Received my Suzukaze / Umkaze kit today from HLJ. This kit is just as nice as the Shiratsuyu kit.

Good to know. Any differentiation, other than the bridge form, that you can see?

I took both kits out for a side by side comparison, and the only differences are the bridge faces. Shiratsuyus are squared/3 portholes on faceplate, while Umikaze's are rounded/5 portholes on faceplate.
The Instructions with the exceptions of the faceplates are identical also.
Kit decals come 2 in one package Umikaze's kit, while in shiratsuyu are packaged as two seperate items.
These sure are nice kits. Way better than the PItroad offerings for sure!

I was puttering around on another DD project and had reason to compare the new Fujimi Shiratsuyu bridge to their new, though released earlier, Kagero class bridge. The Kagero class bridge/kit is made of softer plastic, with more complicated (and unnecessary) construction. The Shiratsuyu bridge is just as detailed, but goes together much easier, with less seams to glue/fill.
