That is excellent news. Fortunately I did not buy this particular book on Ebay I noticed the price is at 45 pounds; you'd expect a drop to 27 so I'll wait a bit before ordering.

A useful strategy with Amazon is to order forthcoming publications as soon as possible, thereby benefiting from any temporary or permanent price drops before publication. If the price hasn't dropped you can always cancel the order before publication and buy elsewhere.

I tried this once when I had the 45 pound Burt on order with the 27 pound in the amazon catalog as well... no advantage of any price offer whatsoever.

You would think that they ship the first books to the early buyers, but my experience with the previous Burt publication shows that UK costumers get their books first. So, no reason to have any friendly attitude towards amazon and buying earlier.
