It is possible, and easy if you think that only a straight funnel is needed plus some small changes in the Pagoda. An option for a flare in the funnel will be also nice.
You can actually build one by your self. You just need some changes in the Pagoda if you make the funnel without flare and the 1927 Pagoda if you make the funnel with flare.

Based on a 1927 IJN Nagato by Aoshima, this is the best/easy/minimal conversion 2 straight funnel IJN Nagato you can make, the one with the flare.
Everything with red shall be removed, and the searchlights(blue line) shall be moved back at the spot of the yellow arrow:
Image
But I have no information about that cubical structure(Red arrow), anyone can help?:

I would like to ask D-Boy if the PE set has the missing pipes for the number 2# funnel(Red circle). Also notice the small rangefinder shall be a in front of the second row of Pagoda's pillars, not behind like Aoshima's model(Yellow arrow):

And here an extra photo:

Sorry to be delayed in seeing this.

The circa-1933 PE set does NOT include any piping for the second funnel. But I believe the circa-1933 kit DOES include them in plastic, along with other unused parts that appear to represent parts for the circa-1927 version.

Check out unused parts (2x) #28 on Sprue D. These are very similar to the Amagi piping. Just wondering if they are long enough, however. Since they don't have to reach to the full height of the funnel, I think these are what you were hoping to find.

I just got the model, and those two parts are for this single boat davits. Aoshima's kit got them but they forget to picture that on the instructions, notice that there holes for them to drill under the main deck, IJN Nagato and IJN Mutsu got those boat davits till the end of their career:

Dont start your IJN Nagato or IJN Mutsu(WWII period) without these !:
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10177658
It includes all the nessecery Nano Dread parts(AA guns, searchligts and radars), it can also be used for the pre-war releases of Aoshima(the searchlights and the Heavy AA guns of 12,7 cm)

Notice a difference in IJN Nagato and IJN Mutsu's platform of AA directors:
Image
I never notice that difference before to be honest.
Noone of the IJN Nagato class battleships at the market offer that difference, between IJN Nagato and IJN Mutsu, and to be honest the platforms for IJN Mutsu available in the 1/350 and the numerous 1/700 kits resemble more of the IJN Nagato variant than the IJN Mutsu.
Thought and comments ?
Thanks in advance.

First is IJN Nagato 1945, Tokyo bay and the second is IJN Mutsu during trials after the degausing cable and small changes - just few months before the attack at the island of O?ahu, Hawai?i -. That means both are after the single funnel modification. So I think that changes are finnal for the director platform on both ships.

Here is btw a proof that IJN Nagato had a degaussing cable till 1946 when she was sunk by the underwater nuclear test BAKER at Bikini Atoll in July 1946:

Last for today, notice two critical difference between IJN Nagato and IJN Mutsu:
First the opening for the main anchor(s), on IJN Mutsu is a bit higher:
Image
Also the opening in the deck is also a bit different in both ships:

Last, the shape/type of the ship bollards base on both ships is different:
