NARA Research Time Lapse

Post by Tracy White »

Today was Seattle NARA's extended hours, so I was there for my usual session. This time, though, I had a GoPro Camera set on time-lapse and shot about two and a half hours of research.

I sped it up to two and a half minutes long for those who are at least mildly interested but don't want to pass out from boredom.

So if you've ever wondered what NARA research looks like and what goes into my site, check out the following link:

It's climate controlled there to preserve the documents!

There actually can be quite a bit of dust and dirt on the documents; the gloves start out white but by an hour or two's work there's a definite tinge of brown to them. I use the regular cotton -issued gloves, but Ron Smith use to use the latex gloves for better "grip" when dealing with mylar, etc..

Minus the blood and grime, I find myself feeling a bit like this
