One word for those who are building Trumpy's 1/350 Roma.
The round part that goes as the top of the main AA barbettes, is actually the turntable base for the turret and should be aligned with the turret itself, not fixed in the position that is given by Trumpeter.

About the 1/700 version of Roma by Trumpetur, Trumpeter doesnt show on the instructions double AA on the boat era. Is that correct ?

No, it isn't. Those mounts should be there; all those boats on the main deck shouldn'tAtma wrote:About the 1/700 version of Roma by Trumpetur, Trumpeter doesnt show on the instructions double AA on the boat era. Is that correct ?

Well Trumpeter really messed the AA suit of Roma. Like the Littorio and Vitorio Veneto's AA suit, its all wrong for a 1941 fit.

Because the lifeboats don't fit well and Roma rarely if ever carried them,I've decided to leave almost all of them off and add some AA mounts to the boat deck.Sound like a plan to you guys?

What difference would be between Roma and Littorio? How difficult would be to do a conversion?
Thanks!

Tomorrow I am attaching the patterns of gun a.a. Roma - Littorio - Veneto
The difference between Roma e Littorio :
Bow , main tower command, funnels

I added these based on reference photos.Building the 1/350 Roma according to the instructions leaves you with three extra AA mounts.Just coincidence?Secondo wrote:Yes, but your "some mounts" worries meTI4438 wrote:Because the lifeboats don't fit well and Roma rarely if ever carried them,I've decided to leave almost all of them off and add some AA mounts to the boat deck.Sound like a plan to you guys?Just add the two missing mounts that were on the main deck near the aft 6" turrets.

Technically I should have removed the last two lifeboat supports on each side and some of the railings, but I didn't want to start ripping things apart at the finish.

Re: Calling all RM Vittorio Veneto-class fans!
Sadly the AA equipment of all the RM Vittorio Veneto kits from Trumpeter is confusing and inaccurate. Both RM Vittorio Veneto and RM Littorio are 1940 build still they had almost a 1944 era AA equipment. As for RM Roma the double pais of AA on the boat era is missing.
Thanks to the guys in this thread I have manage to add the correct number of AA guns in my 1940 RM Vittorio Veneto

How popular has the 1/350 Roma proven to be? Any chance her sisters will be produced as well?
