And one more thing (sorry I got thing started). A round of golf costs the price of a good model. The model provides three or more months of enjoyment, the golf is over in about 4 hours and I'm usually not very happy.

According to Mark Twain, golf is "a good walk spoiled". I used to play regularly, years ago, and I can attest that I get much more value for my money, entertainment and satisfaction at my bench.

O.K. I have the books the model and about 196.00 worth of p.e resin and other things for this waterline 1/350 build. I want the BB-62 to look just like the photos. first what is the color of the photos MS21 overall as in the sides and deck? the first photo is the model. No idea about how this bad boy really look on her first outing. Thanks for the help.

Yep, if it's in the last few years of the war and there's only a single colour on the verticals, it's 99% certain MS 21.

Now, for the first time in over 11 years, she's finally got the right silhouette again.

Actually, make that the first time in 22(!) years, because the largest chunk of it was cut off back in 2001, but the tall pole that rises off the rear of the platform was taken off both the Iowa and Wisconsin during their last deactivations in '90/'91...

Ooooohhh! Am I jealous of you folks in Northern Cal being able to take part in the reconstruction of that ship. The last time I looked, Iowa-class ships just can't make it up the Ohio River. Sigh!

I was surfing three days ago and on hitting Tamiya USA they were announcing a BB-62 New Jersey as a coming soon model.
I hope it's a WWII version. Anyone has a more reliable info about this?

It's the same '80s NJ kit, but with some new-tooled fittings and some PE additions.
