detail set for DML gearing class (kit 1029)

Hi guys.
We have plans to release a series of 350 and 700 scale items around end of this month, and among them is our first full detail set. The sample of this is built up, figured we'd share these pictures here with you guys, sort of a first look
This set for gearing class was designed based on DML's kit 1029. You could use it for other gearing class ships, but might require additional purchases of weapons for the different layouts. Those options are available from our current product line.
We're working on a set for the Benson class (kit 1032), so if that's what you were looking for, hold on to it a little longer
Only component from this set not included in these pictures are the MK9B depth charges, they weren't ready when we started the build. We'll include a few dozen of them in the set, and they will also be available separately with the launchers.








Price for these detail sets will be comparable to retail cost of the base kit.
We consider these DML and Trumpeter kits reasonably priced, good bases for detail sets...
There will be some surprise items in our releases, stayed tuned

This gearing detail set will be released towards end of this month, not yet available, and we don't have the precise costs yet. Since the base DML kit costs around $50, this detail set should cost about the same, at least that's the aim. In another example. We're doing the detail set for Trumpeter's USS Masachusette, the kit costs around $85, so we'll try our best to make sure the retail price of detail set for that ship not to exceed $100.

I really love the details on the depth charge racks (both at the fantail and the sides of the ships) and the gun director. Will you have a depth charge racks set and a gun directors set out in a near future? Or will you put out a Fletcher Class set? I would like to use your products on my Fletcher.

I like what I'm seeing but if I'm honest about it I think the walkways on the deck (I'm sure there's a more appropriate name for them) seem over done in brass. I think the set would be more impressive without them and would save you money and make it more affordable to modelers. I think these walkways are much better done with decals than brass. Just a thought.

I have to agree with Dave. I think it could be improved if the mats are individual instead of connected as a walkway. As it is, I don't plan on using them.

I'd rather see them as decals. As photoetch, I think they'd stand too proud above the deck. The originals were essentially the thickness of thick sandpaper, so I think that doing them in metal would make them too tall above the deck.

The set looks beautiful, and I'd buy it except for the non-stick walkway photoetch. I simply wouldn't use it so it would be a waste.
