Yes, that detail is correctAtma wrote:Giampero (or anyone else) do you know if the platforms arround the 120mm guns in RN Vittorio Veneto is correct ? Trumpeter gives them as two separates platforms for RM Vittorio Veneto while in RM Littorio and RM Roma as a single piece.
I think the odds are against us, as the tooling would be quite different. Usually companies issue sister ships of the first one produced when those ships share almost everything, thereby the production costs are radically reduced. In this case, with a whole new hull and a new bridge, this would need a considerable investment.TI4438 wrote:How popular has the 1/350 Roma proven to be? Any chance her sisters will be produced as well?

Sounds interesting!Secondo wrote:This has nothing to do with what we are discussing now, but...
Am I the only one to have thought about a Whiff of Impero in, say, 1944?
I would start from a Roma kit and do the following alterations:
- Modified stem
- 65 mm single AA guns instead of 37 mm twin mounts
- 20 135 mm DP guns in twin mounts instead of the 152 mm + 90 mm arrangement
- A "Claudus" paint scheme (inaccurate for 1944, but, finally, who cares?)
- RE 2005 instead of RE 2000 on the catapult
Besides, Regia Marina was experimenting some other quite interesting AA toys in 1943, such as a sextuple 20 mm mount, designed for CV Aquila, and a quad 37 mm mount, for the DDs of the Comandanti class... You may want to consider them for your Impero Whiff
The 135mm DP twin mounts could be the same used for the Capitani Romani class light cruisers ? Or like the ones intended for Comandanti Medaglie d'Oro class destroyers and Etna class light cruisers ?Secondo wrote: - 20 135 mm DP guns in twin mounts instead of the 152 mm + 90 mm arrangement
Each class of ship had a different mount, even if the gun was the same: Capitani Romani twin mount (model Ansaldo or OTO '38) had its elevation limited to 45: it was not designed as a DP mount, perhaps because the 65/54 guns that they had to embark according to their plans were deemed sufficient for AA fire; delays in the developement of this new gun led to the 37/54 single mounts being used instead.Atma wrote: The 135mm DP twin mounts could be the same used for the Capitani Romani class light cruisers ?
