torpedo nets

Hello everyone,
Does anyone have any tips and advice for making stored or rolled up torpedo nets - for the Borodino? Apologies if this has been discussed before.

Jim Baumann used shoelace on some of his builds, so that's one way to do it.

In 1/350 scale--shoelace--tight weave pattern--and gently drybrushed looks pretty convincing

Jim: Both your Koenig and Nick's Borodino are indeed inspiring. I have a pic of your Massena as my pc wallpaper right now. Fabulous photography and build. People who see it think it is real!

Besides using shoe laces, has anybody tried those bits that stop your glasses from falling of your face.
thats what I used on my model of ICM "Grosser Kurfurst". Same effect is achieved.

I could also think of strips of black ladies' stockings tightly rolled up and then soaked in diluted matte browninsh paint and finally dry-brushed moderately with some gunmetal. Rather than dry-brushing, going over it with a very soft pencil might be even better. I would first stick a soft copper wire to the end of the strips as a core for rolling up. This wire also allows the rolls to be bent to the needed shape.

Black ladies' stockings stiffened with brownish paint might also be a solution for displaying spread-out torpedo-nets.

for roll on, check (empty) muslin teabags textile (first Tamyia primer and then medium grey color) bound with PE chains.
