I am currently scratch building, from styrene, a 1/72 scale radio controlled model of the USS Petrof Bay and am wondering if anyone has any info as to what instrumentation etc. was on the bridge of this class of escort carrier.

For a question like this (that deals with the physical composition of the real ship), you may wish to peruse the CASF (Calling All Ship Fans) thread on the vessel class: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=5714
You've probably seen them already, but HNSA has a set of general arrangement plans for CVE 90: http://www.hnsa.org/doc/plans/cve90.pdf
Sheet five contains some simple plans of the island levels and major equipment there - specifically locations of the compass and pelorus on the observation level.
