I got lucky with the size, Russ. I think their pretty close. I really don't think the block and tackle portion of the topping lift is too long.
There's only one more detail you could put in. Can you spot it?
PS I think the difference in the Forward and Aft guys in the two diagrams is due to the size of ship involved, so the second diagram might be a cruiser or BB

Russ,
Are you talking about the Guess Warps? I'm thinking of adding them, if not just a line from the boat's bow cleat to up to the boom. It'll probably bug me if I don't complete the Guess Warps all of the way from the boom to the ship's cleats, though. consider it done.
You're always keeping me honest, Russ. I appreciate it all.

Well, since you have been described, on this very website, of being a "Master Modeller", some people might be intimidated and hesitate. I, on the other hand, am a grumpy old man and do not hesitate to nudge you toward loftier goals.
Hey, I found some new material to try at JS Fly Fishing. The tubing's outside diameter is approximately 0.02" for micro, 0.03" for midge, and 0.04" for standard.

I'm thinking hoses.
That's flexible tubes with outside diameters .5mm, .7mm and 1mm, respectively

I think its the medication that made me say such a thing. I retract it all. Truly. I don't know what inspired me to say that, at that time. I love all of my "usuals" and I appreciate everything you guys contribute, here.bwross11 wrote:You appear to be my only Fan, lately. (Richard O'Malley counts, too.)

Sorry, Richard. But, I don't know right off hand about drawings for this gun. I'd first try The Floating Drydock for special drawings. A separate posting, here at The Ship Model Forum, would probably pay off, for you.

Re: Calling all USS Barnegat class Seaplane Tender Fans
Carl,
Just so you don't feel like you're the only one building AVP's I'll add a couple of pictures of the Cook Inlet. First, I mentioned back a bit that I was working on underdeck vents and piping; well, this picture is of the Radio Central vent ducting on the 01 Port side.

There is more ducting on the main deck, 01, and 02 that is being planned and built. Some of that equipment is complicated so it's taking some time.
And, here we see a member of the wardroom attempting to give a intelligent tour of the ship.....we'll see how that goes. Anyway, visible is one of the force draft blowers, and the port 40mm twin mount.

More to come in the not so distant future.......I hope.
Good modeling all,
Bruce

One piece at a time, isn't Bruce?
This 1/144 AVP makes me hesitate to dig into that 1/96 hull that I have. We've discussed getting lost in the details. Man! There's a lot of them!

Tying up the barge to the ship........
The PBM broke off of the barge but, it was a blessing in disquise. It made it a lot easier to double up the lines.

Re: Calling all USS Barnegat class Seaplane Tender Fans
Carl,
You're right, the devil is in the details when you get into the bigger scales. Either you make it "per plan" which can mean thousands of parts; or, you go light on the detail and for me it just doesn't look quite right. Just as an example, the port 40mm tub and associated structure in the last picture I posted (without the gun) is made up of 76 parts last count, and there are two!
It's all about what floats your boat shipmate!
Good modeling,
Bruce
