Err - have now received funnel rails from the 'States but I'm having a frustrating time fixing them to the funnels of my current project.

My question is - is there a technique to attach them? Do I need to drill holes or scribe a line - as keeping them straight is defeating me.

Hey Skillers,

I do sympathize, as I also cannot get these little metal beasts to behave.
So I resorted to making them in plastic. The procedure is here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=83589
Kind of overscale compared to the metal alternative but is much more resilient.

On another note, I think I read somewhere that GMM's set for the Mikasa has a rig that helps you align the funnel rails. Never laid my hands on it though.

The key seems to be something that supports the PE in-place while the adhesive is applied and cures. Something that resists adhesive. How about teflon plumbers tape, the white tape you wing onto threads before screwing on the next fitting. It clings to itself when stretched, overlapped and released and it is teflon. Wrap the plastic/resin to create a thin support ridge, place and adhere the PE, let cure, cut any adhering adhesive, cut loose the tape. Its worth a try

I think I'll give the plumbers teflon tape thing a try first - having forked out a lump of cash on the PE I'd really prefer to try to use it!
