Seeking good references for the Graf Spee

Post by BillGorm »

I'm gearing up to build Trumpeter's Admiral Graf Spee and although I've found great information on this site, I'd like to pick up 1-2 good reference books. Can anyone make a recommendation?

Thanks, Bob. Any experience with the Marine Arsenal book? I can't find much information on it. The other two I can probably guess the nature of the content based on other books in the series I've seen/bought.

Hi Bill,

Sorry, but I lost track of this thread. My apologies.

I do have the Breyer book, and outside of some nice photos of Spee which can probably also be found on the internet, there's not much to it.

It's only about 40 pages, has small, top and starboard view line drawings, and some technical data, and that's about it. It's definitely not an "Anatomy of the Ship" type reference book. But, what can you expect for $10, I guess.

There's also this weird section thrown in at the end that talks about "modern" ships like the Bearn, a Chinese sub, and a frigate of some sort. I guess it was put there to make the book a little bit thicker?

HTH
