I found 5 photos one of them from a crewman. Armed with these 5 plus the Navsource 42 photos that show the superstructure anyone can do a 100% accurate camo pattern on the ship. I tried to upload them on to this site got a message they are too big. If anyone needs them send me an email. They are scans of original glossy type photos except for the one I got from a crewman, so the quality should be OK.

Here are the photos

All of the photos are NARA except for one, which came from crewman George Horton....All of the other photos are scans of original photos which (redacted) kindly got for me at NARA last week...Armed with these photos plus the ones on the net that show the superstructure camo scheme anyone should be able to do a good job on the camo scheme with close to 100% accuracy.

Does anyone know if there is a 1/350 Atlanta class in the works from Dragon? Ive noticed that there seems to be a pattern with them of putting a picture of their next release on the box art of the newest release. If thats correct, the latest release of the Princeton has a picture of an Atlanta in the background. Heres hoping! 1/700 is just too small for my old eyes, and I dislike working with resin.

I think Dragon said one was coming, but they have said that before. When it shows up, I will believe.

No further news posted since they listed the USS Atlanta in their catalog with kit number 1039 (last February if my memory serves me correctly). The rumor mill remains very quiet on this and other projects such as the 1/700 CVN Enterprise.

They have hinted it with a picture (not box art) and entry in their 2012 catalog, so it's in the works, theoretically.

Does the YMW/BWN Atlanta hull have the characteristic knuckle at the bow? Looking at the photos of completed models, it appears that the bow just has a continuous smooth form.

I tried several times to contact floating drydock for drawings in 1/350 for Atlanta CLAA class and no response from them, any other source to getting to drawings.. I plan to scratch build one...

They have a nice set of plans for the Atlanta. All their plans are for larger scales, you need to take them to a blueprint firm and have them reduced.
I was planning on scratch building one as well, but I was hoping that Dragon would beat me to it.

In Floating Drydock's "NEW" section, they state that they will have new sets of plans for USS SAN DIEGO CL(AA) 53 and USS SAN JUAN CL(AA)54 dated 1942 era. And plans for the USS OAKLAND CL(AA)95, RENO CL(AA)96, FLINT CL(AA)97, and TUCSON CL(AA)98 that are dated 1944/45. These will be in their "Bu Series" plans, and will be in addition to the Atlanta plans they already have. These plans are usually 1/96 or 1/192. You can get someone to rescale them, or make your measurements and recalculate your new dimensions. There is a good scale model calculator at Scalecalc.com that will convert any scale to any other scale. Easy to use, too! I need to bookmark their "Bu Series" plans so I can get the Tucson when it comes out! Now if they would get the Phoenix of the Brooklyn Class..... Unfortunately, they haven't said when they will have these Oakland class plans ready.

While I don't know about the Atlanta hull, the Oakland hull has too much freeboard, so that the knuckle is moulded too low. Also, the kit knuckle is rounded, not sharp. The armor belt is molded below the correct waterline and is wrong in both shape and thickness.

After looking at some other photos of these models, I could make it out, but it seemed rather indistinct. Combined with the other issues that you mention, it seems like it wouldn't be a bad idea to scratch out a hull (unless Dragon come along with something more proper).
