Tamiya will be releasing a Missouri 1991 kit this December: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10199451
Will you still provide the resin superstructure upgrade parts, since Tamiya will presumable do their homework and include them in the new kit?
Looking at the price point and recalling the 1:700 Yorktown disappointment, I wouldn't expect very much. What's convenient to swap out, perhaps - probably just the foretop. Anything beyond that, I'm doubtful. On the other hand, I really like what I've been seeing in these Pontos photos so far.
Perhaps the soon-to-release Pontos set could stay as a Missouri conversion set with the resin superstructure parts, and then when the new Tamiya kit comes out and we know what's in it, perhaps release a slightly less expensive Missouri detail set without the big resin parts?

Also can you consider adding some weapons for the aircraft complement as they are void of any,at least some resin fuel tanks and aa missiles?
Might worth coming with a set only with these if you ask me (A-7, F-4 ,F-18 ,F-14 etc).

Though next year you can see anything,
Nothing is determined what this set include...

On New Jersey the lower level of this structure was more rounded, were on Mssouri, it was more or less a solid 2 level square structure.
Tried to realize each ship's major differences.
Just hope small differences you can add on easily.

I do not know what Tamiya will include on this Missouri.
Seeing from new released New Jersey, our new detail up set(35008F1) covers both old and new NJ.
And I am sure our new Missouri set (35009F1) also realize Missouri 1991 with your old or new NJ kit or even if you get new Missouri 1991 kit coming at December.
I am also sure you can't help getting one of our Iowa class detail up sets, if you would start work one.
I have a question, or a suggestion. When you get to making the WW2 Missouri set, can you think of including or making a separate set for WW2 New Jersey or Iowa. Both of these ships had very different bridges and towers from Missouri and Wisconsin.
I have a question, will each set detail the aft 16" gun deck down to the fantail, all four ships had a different deck, some had lots of wood planking, some almost no wooden planking.
I think i just saw the answer in the main forum with regards Stern deck

Yep if possible we would release all 4 WWII Iowa Class sisters based on Tamiya Missouri Kit.

John
Deck designs for all 4 sisters have been finished already...
NJ/Missouri were finished for applying.
And now we are applying these for Iowa and Wisconsin...
Hi, all
I've just finished the Modern USS NEW JERSEY BB-62 & USS MISSOURI BB-63 1991 application.
Other photos of New Jersey and Missouri will be posted on our webpage http://pontosmodel.com

I must ask: Is there the possibility of you sclupting blast bags for the 16" guns like you have done for other upgrade sets?
I cannot wait to see what you have in store for Iowa and Wisconsin! Thank you for producing these upgrade kits!
We would include the Blast bag if the kit's one is significantly wrong shape.
At Warspite set, we added this with modifying the angle of Barrel holes 5degree higher than kit's bag shape.
The circles on the foredeck (ahead of the breakwater, where the 40mm tubs were removed) should only be on the New Jersey. On Missouri and the others they re-arranged the planking for a clean transition.
Also, one detail unique to IOWA is the vertical braces on the outside of the 08 level bulwark, which is also has a 'lip' around the top of it. Visible in the upper portion of the photo here:
Not sure if that's included in the IOWA-specific set or not, since only NJ and MO have been previewed, but it's an important enough detail to point out to make sure it's been noticed.

Yep though onthe manual and application, we used the NJ deck, in retail version this tub circle was removed.

Very important lips in our Iowa resin parts.
Don't worry, already applied.

I am so glad to hear you guys put so much research into the upgrades. That's fantastic!.

I ask because the ones in the New Jersey kit are inflated, because some times the turrets operated at a higher atmospheric pressure, so they balooned out. However, most of the time they are collapsed inward. In some of the turret replacement kits there are blast bags that present an un-inflated, collapsed position. I believe this are the same ones used in the Iowa turret replcement, as well as the South Dakota:
Either way I will be getting the upgrade it! Thank you for keeping us update!
