Are you aware of any detailed blueprints of the Italian armoured frigate Re d'Italia?
I have only seen a couple of illustrations, photos of her sister Re di Portogallo and line drawings published in "Le Navi di Linea Italiane" and "Storia della Marina".
Any help will be much appreciated.
All the best,
Kaz

Re: Blueprints of the Italian armoured frigate "Re d'Italia"
Hello, Kaz
Sorry for this so late answer, but I've just seen your post now...
As far as I know, there are no available plans in Italy of the Re d'Italia, sunked in the unlucy (for us, italians) Battle of Lissa when she was rammed and sunked by the flagship of the Austro-Hungarian fleet.
In any case, perhaps.. there is a possibility......
I've read in the website of the Washington Ship Model Society (in the WSMS library section at the link : http://www.dcshipmodelsociety.org/11701.html ) that they've a set of plans of the ship, by Webb source (the builder) that I think could be used.
I've already tried to contact the Society by mail but I never had an answer anytime.
Perhaps someone here in the forum is available to bring them my and your ask for an help ??
Or..would you try for both of us and let me to know if you have more success than me????
I would like to build a model of such unlucky ship, just because I'ma lover of the Navy of Italian Kingdom in such period.
I hope you'' be more lucky than me.
Ciao and good luck !!

JP, I emailed the Washington Ship Model Society right after reading your post, but haven't received a reply so far.
