Calling all Bismarck and Tirpitz fans

He's not wrong, though, at least on the surface - this inbox review on Malaysia Scale Modelling included a picture of the decal sheet. For some reason, the stripes have a green tinge to them. Maybe it's a printing error for that "batch" or perhaps the green will go away once applied on the hull grey?

piont. it may look that way but Bismarcks stripes were black and white,if our learned friend would have cared to look anywhere on the internet he would have known this.But to come on here and make a remark like he did was inexcusable, as we are here to help. So for me he can paint his Bismarck ti**y pink with yellow spots for all i care, just one thing, if you do, please post the pics on here so we can all have a laugh ........lol

Other than anchor hawspipes I really cannot see any difference in bow profiles, can anyone shed more light on the subject?
I am converting a Kangnam/Mini Hobbies Bismarck to a I am talking about 1943ish Tirpitz.

there are huge differences between Bismarck and Tirpitz bow.
it wouldnt matter to the bow of Tirpitz what year you decided to model her
as she was built with the Atlantic bow on the stocks
you need to go on a website that shows the bow profile even the bow planking was different
i will check the model you are enquiring about and re post .

It would be great if you would! Especially with comparing pictures and drawings. There is obvious difference in appearance on photographs between the two ships. But I could not find a detailed comparison when needed it.
It would be an important reference for any Bismark/Tirpitz modeler taking into a view that the latest and highly credited editions of the ships by Revell in 1/350 have their bows absolutely identical (I checked myself).

SO I am wondering: here I am using the POS Mini Hobbies Bismarck to make Tirpitz. I spent some time over the Warship Pictorials and I can definitely see the difference in bow profile, the books report a whopping 10 feet difference in length (Tirpitz being longer).
I can change the bow profile, but I am not sure about the length.
In the end, why bother since not even the latest kits have that difference in length (about 8mm).

I think that the Tirpitz stem is lightly more raked. But 3 mt of difference, would be evident in the bow shape not only in the stem.


Has someone plans or sketches of both bows? I have two Tirpitz (1/700 and 1/350) so I am very interested.
