I finished one of the 5" turrets for the 1/200 Yamato. I'm getting to the point where I hate PE. :mad_1:

I posted this in the trade thread but thought I would ask here as well.
If anyone has the old discontinued LR set #LR350003 for the older Yamato kit and would like to have the new #LR RS3511 for the new tool Yamato please let me know, willing to trade as I have no plans right now to build the new Yamato.
Thanks

btw: the PE aft deck of the 3511 kit does not fit the older Yamato kit.

Ive got the old..well...the revised Lionroar set for the old tool. I might actually do the swap. Im working on my 1/200 Yamato and by the time I finish the price of the new Yamato will probably drop and I'll buy. Guess I could sell the old tool Yam.

I say take your time and do it right. Applying the PE might take as long as putting the model together.

Agree with Senkan.

Set aside a reasonable amount of time every day, or every weekend, and take it easy. Take your time. Enjoy it. Rushing a project like this results in no enjoyment and mistakes which then take even more time to fix.

For me, the process (building) is more fun than admiring the final product.

100 hours exactly. :heh:

If you aren't a noob then why are you asking us? We don't know what your normal building pace is. This is a question only you can answer.

Yeap. :thumbs_up_1:
You dont want to go wrong with a PE set, hard to fix it if you mess up things.

hull should not be glossy..unless you are making it to look like it was just build. Making it look like 1945..it will have faded.

Even just-built, a 1/350 scale model should not be glossy anyway (except maybe modern subjects that just finished drydocking with new anti-fouling). Go with matt finish, and you can't go wrong.
