Hi Guys,
I am (attempting) to Scratch build a static 1/200 scale HMAS Sydney 1913.

I am new to the forum and I must say it is packed with great information.
I have never built a ship before but as a young fella I built a myriad of aircraft in all sorts of scales. So not new to modelling.
I had a friend once who had a wooden model of an old coastal steamer on his mantelpiece that his grandfather made. I though it was brilliant and for the last twenty years I have thought about building my own.

So, I started.
A Scratch built static 1/200 scale HMAS Sydney 1913. "oh my god what have I done"
Actually, it's coming along quite nicely. Screwed it up a couple of times and redid it...but, overall not too bad so far.

So looking for deck details to build. Being a Chatham class there are a lot of photos of the sister ships but what I really need now is all the deck furniture and structures, winches, gantries, axillary boat gear etc etc ect. Any help on this will be much appreciated.
I will make a build log and keep you all up to date on the progress.

I'm very happy to share any of the plans I have made as well.

Thanks and nice to be here

Any help on this will be much appreciated.

Best

Darren :wave_1:

G'day Darren,

I'm sorry, but I can't help you with your query although I have no doubt that there are many people on here who can, and will.

Best of luck with your build - I wish there was a 1/350 version of this ship available as it would dovetail perfectly with the Revell kit of SMS Emden.

I look forward to seeing some photos in due course.

cheers,

bj
