MosquitoCon 22

Post by MartinJQuinn »

In just about six weeks, on Saturday April 6, 2013, MosquitoCon 22 will here. The show will once again be at the Wayne Police Athletic League (PAL) Hall just off of Route 23, about a mile or so north of Route 80 (take the 1st exit).

Why come to MosquitoCon? Well, here's just a few reasons:

- It's one of the largest annual model hobby events not only in Jersey, but on the East Coast!

- NJIPMS's show staff are seasoned professionals, with 20+ years of show experience under their belts!

- MosquitoCon boasts more vendors/better vendors than many IPMS USA Regional shows!

- Number of models competing meets or exceeds the amount that show up at most IPMS USA Regionals!

- Lighting in the model room is superb!

- Modelers attend our show from near and far. In the past we've had attendees from Europe, South America and Asia!

- NJIPMS has many ship modelers in its membership and the ship categories are filled with great models!

- You may run into ModelWarship regulars Bob Cicconi, Dan Kaplan and Keith Bender, among others! Rumor has it Sgt Ryan will attend!

- The Wayne PAL has the BEST Hot Dogs!

This year the show theme will be The Cutting Edge. That's new, technologically advanced stuff - Dreadnought, Invincible, Nuclear power ships, etc.

We've had some problems with the NJ/IPMS website, but hopefully those will be fixed soon. When they are, you can head there for full details, which include a show flyer. Soon we'll have up the model entry and registration forms. The show flyer has directions, list of categories, list of special awards, rules and other pertinent info.

I am really hoping for a record turnout in the ship categories this year, so I hope to see many of you there!!

Martin, thanks for the Email. I was looking for details on how to get a small vendor table, unfortunately I believe the contact person in the flyer is being swamped by phone calls and I cannot find other indications.

WoofreakinHoo! I'll be there for sure this year, making damn sure not to schedule another vacation for the same weekend again! I plan to bring a few ships to beef up our numbers against all those wingy and armor things.

The two skin heads will be there, Dr.s Cicconi and Bender and prime rib after the show.

Less than two weeks to go!

Vendor tables are all sold out - unfortunately Iron Shipwrights won't be able to make it this year.

Hope to see many of you there. More importantly, hope to see a good turnout of ships on the tables!

Who is the photographer, out east, Martin?

I hope some pics of the ship models can make it to the MWS Gallery, here. :wave_1:

Carl, to ensure there is proper photographic coverage posted to MWS, I think the only reasonable solution is for you to fly in for this one and take the pictures! Bring that USCG tank of yours along too, as I would love to check it out!

I would love to make a MosquitoCon, someday, but this year is a NoGo, Ryan. I hope this is an Open-Invitation. :wave_1:

Of course it is an open invitation. Which is open to all members of this forum!

Carl - we have Devin Poore heading up our photography team. He usually sends a bunch of photos each year for submission.
