WOW, I need to get access to some of what You are doing. I had thought about the 3d printer thing but the ones here in teh states are far away and charge allot of money for the services. I am doing different things on My project, and experimenting with resin cast molding and sheet metal soldering and fiberglass and so on and so on. I have a freind that makes ships in 1/87 HO train scale from sheet metal, and they look ok for Remote Control, however I'm shooting for the more acurate look and feel weather RC or static. I have ben working on a 1/72 scale German Light cruiser, and am posted on the site. after veiwing Yout anti aircraft guns I am definatley going to check into the 3d printing thing. keep up the good work, it inspires me to do beter on mine.

Hi Rolf I have seen the method used for generating such work and it is very impressive but out of reach for most model makers. More the preserve of manufactures where volume sales justify the cost of the equipment. As part of our next seminar in model ship building one of the demonstrations is explaining the interface between CAD and 3D laser modelling. I will be the first to admit the methodology is above me but I like to engage and try to understand the theory even if the practical application is beyond me. The model produced is incredible in detail but as you say many of the parts are quite delicate. Recently I was shown some examples of this process by a manufacture in the UK , one was a 1:72nd 4.5inch gun turret made to accompany a semi kit of a Leopard class frigate . The detail for such a model is the best I have seen and it was only grams in weight but more importantly very robust. Thanks for posting

hello guys happy new year to all ..

I finally optimized with the new engines the rotation of the tower 460mm, with these motors 12V, 90rpm, 40 oz-in spur gear motor, works very well to reduce tension here in video and 7.2Volt for the test, the Final use a voltage of 6 volts.
There is still no stroke end, for the following positions right-left-center

I am working with learning Auto CAD and I am going to get back on the Munich, however I have some Yahagi resource materials, and I have a small model of her in 1/350 for side reference. I wached a 1/72 Bismarck in a swiming pool on You Tube. I saw You in the back ground. Your ship will be as impresive as that one, but I think that is the coolest most detailed RC ship that I have seen finished yet to date. Thats how I want the ones I build to be. I still have allot to learn on the RC side of things but I dont wan't to cluter Your log. I will start working on 72 scale plans for Yahagi on the side. Smooth Sailing as always. Haratio.

Very nice, My Brother and I have 2 of 4 Laser 3d printers from Canada that should be able to print to the half width of a Human hair. This should eliminate the course lines, however we are having allot of difficulty learning all the programing for them, and getting the resin supplies from Canada to use them. We'll keep plugging away at it but in the mean time I have decided to get a lath and drill press and make stuff the old fashioned way.

Breathtaking!

The potential for 3D printing is clearly evident. And your metal work is superb.
Have fun, Monkey around. TM

hello guys
here are a few pieces made in 3D with a technique very sostificata using the wire but not the resin and is solidified by the laser and this the result.
