IPMS 2013 Region 4 show - April 12-13, WPAFB, Ohio

Hello! I�m pleased to announce that my IPMS chapter, Wright Field Scale Modelers, has once again been selected to host the IPMS Region 4 convention. Our first regional, held this past April, drew 750 contest entries and we hope to do even better this year.

This year�s dates are April 12-13, 2013. As in 2012, the event will be held at the Hope Hotel and Conference Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton , Ohio , just minutes from the National Museum of the US Air Force. The venue is a great site for a contest � plenty of room and well-lighted! � and there is also on-site dining and concessions, as well as a discounted room rate for those who wish to stay overnight.

We�ve added over 20 categories and possible splits since 2012, for a new total of over 80 categories. I will once again be sponsoring a special award for best German warship. Full information including a complete list of categories may be found here: http://www.ipmsdayton.com/2013/contest.htm

When will entry forms be available for this show?

Forms are currently undergoing revision for 2013, but we should have them up at least 30 days prior to the contest.

If I'm reading the IPMS rules correctly, my Nimitz display is too large. My base is 49x17x12.

I checked with our contest chair, and your Nimitz display will be fine. Bring it on down!

BTW, our guideline is 30x30 or 900 sq in. Looks like your display is 833 sq in. Hope to see you in April!

Just 9 days now - hope to see you next weekend April 12-13 at WPAFB in Dayton, OH! We had a great ship turnout last year and a 1/700 IJN subject won Best in Show. Special awards this year of interest to the ship modeler include Best Battlewagon and Best German Warship.

Contest registration and model registration forms are available here: http://ipmsdayton.com/registration/index.htm

You can pay your entry fees in advance via PayPal if you want, or pay at the door. On the forms, you can either fill them in electronically, print them, and bring them with you, or print them out blank, fill them in by hand, and then bring them with you to the show. Either way, bring the forms with you to registration - do not e-mail them.
