Thanks for that. I'll have to keep an eye out for a UK based supplier.

Cheers

Hi,

you can also take a look in the aftermarket area of R/C ships too. Some manufactures make fine brass propellers too, which are for some ships fitting. For example I saw in my local shop propellers from a manufacture named "Krick" which are declared to be 1/200 and for Bismarck / Tirpitz. If correct or useable I can't say ... WW-2 DKM is out of my own interest. Also looking in the spare part boxes there, some are looking maybe useable for other 1/350 ships too in size, ranging from 2 blade up to 6 blade propellers

Cheers

The G-Factor props look a lot like the plastic ones in the Zvezda kit - wouldn't be surprised if they're the same shape just as they've done with the Trumpeter Burke props and others. Sometimes they make their own props when they have help, but a lot of the times it's just copies of the kit props with no advantage other than being in brass.

because it's the injection plastic (a refined constructed version) that was the master, just temperature transferring from there.
the best way nowadays, 3D print the prop out of wax, digitally sculpt the prop accurately.
investment cast straight into metal, you looking at $6 cost per prop (to me, manufacturer, so ~$12-15 retail), you can have the hole to mount onto shafts.
problem is how many $15-a-piece skewer you gonna sell

We've found a good way.
But as mentioned above, the main problem is the higher price as one screw is much higher cost than large PE fret.

Any update on the Dreadnought detail set? I'm curious because I'm going to be starting my Trumpeter Dreadnought soon.

As there seems to be a delay in releasing a Trumpeter version, i was wondering what the difference would be from the Zvesda version
and if it would be possible to adapt it to the Trump. kit. Only curious. Any thoughts, Pontos?

Basically detail set for Trumpeter's may have similar contents as for Zvezda's. But some parts may be added as Bitts.

We don't recomend our current Dreanought set being applied to Trumpeter's now.

Thank you
Kim

Yep Dreadnought, Warspite and Indianapolis sets of Trumpeter will be released easily because many parts can be used again.

SHAME !
real shame, I ordered this kit from my usual hobby shop http://www.avrmodel.com (of which I am highly satisfied), in spring, finally they got the set in September, and eventually I got the kit. As I was checking the contents I was horrified to see that many scribed parts were missing i.e all the torpedoe net booms, jackstaff etc.. I reported it to my hobby shop, and they checked their boxes: same parts were missing in theirs. They naturally claimed to Pontos, and not only didn't they send the missing parts, but they didn't even bother to answer !!!!

I'm really disappointed with this appalling customer care, you got the money for the kit you sold and I didn't get what I paid for !
Would please Pontos get in contact ASAP with my hobby shop and get this problem straight and make sure it doesn't happen again ?
Looking forward to hearing from you very very soon

I find your corporate attitude very rude and impolite, why can't you just send the parts at once and give news. This is my second purchase from Pontos and unless a goodwill gesture from you it's going to be the last one. I'll have to mention this in the different modelling forums where I belong, to warn other members and fellow modellers, it's only fair.

It's been 2 weeks and still no news, this is ...a real shame, Make money on the back of the customers. My online model shop had to pay custom fees for the missing parts he'd already paid for, would you believe it ? TRUST PONTOS ...and hope for the best, disgusting, really.

Ok Ack that you had a bad experience with this vendor but can you please take it to a private
conversation between yourself and them? there is no point in continually trying to shame someone on this thread

I got improperly scribed turret tops in my Pontos 1/200 Iowa set (the only problem I've had in the 6 different Pontos sets I've bought over the past 3 years or so)... Freetime Hobbies got me a replacement fret in about 3 weeks.

Every time someone complains about Pontos there seems to be a chorus of "Huh? that's not my experience with them at all!?" comments. Here's mine... Loving my Nelson set! :thumbs_up_1:

So no real issues with Pontos sets, I have 5 in the stash and have used two.

Instructions were a bit confusing at first if I was being harsh, a good study and build plan and problem solved.

Built Dreadnought and Duke of York and enjoyed both of them. Looking forward to the next one I use, and getting my hands on the Nelson set.

Cheers,

Si

Shipped 10days ago.
It takes 7days to 2weeks to Europe generally.
When you get our stuff, we would support until you finish your works.
Thank you

Kim,

Consider myself another buyer for a Trumpeter release. I've had the kit in my stash waiting for this release. :)
