Cant figure out how this goes in (pic)

cant really figure out where this resin piece goes.



Does this resin piece fit in here like this?



and does it sit flush on top of these things? whatever their called, they have a door in them.



Heres another picture of it.

The reason im asking is, im having to do an awfull lot of trimming on this piece to make it fit here.

If that's where that part is supposed to go, I think you'd be better off making a new one from plastic sheet (it looks like Evergreen .030 should work).
