MARS 1/350 DDG-51 Arleigh Burke

Post by Miguel »

Hello gents ,just a brief review of a somewhat new plastc kit in 1/350 scale, this review is focused mainly,at what to expect of this one ,and also,an advice to fellow modelers to be aware mainly in the cost of the item, because as happened to me ,I had some expectations of the quality of the product.
The box is very nice and pretty strong carboard type ,the art design is very good also, something wierd ,was the abscense of a finished model, like the dragon boxes

The hull and deck is one piece each and cause is for made for electric motor use ,the deck fit directly on top of the hull ,like a plug ,detal is very crude and raised helo landing lines like the old Waveline resin kits,I haven't check the accuracy,of the length and width, but some parts are oversized (MK-45 guns)and other undersized(harpoon launchers)to name a few

It has some of 100 pieces and the instructions are very simple and no decals at all.

Finally.... when I saw the box ,I thought it was a Trumpeter clone at a very attractive price.I was really far from the reality.
Never mind ,if the price is good ,could be a nice first try model for kids, or a beautiful pond toy,I will go for the second choice, anyway ,hope this review helps other people to do the right choice

BTW the coin is a 50 cents euro, was the only ''common'' coin I had for size comparison
