Airfix 1/600 RN Type 21 frigate update article search

I'm searching for an article published in a modelling mag on updating the 1/600 scale Airfix Type 21 Frigate model. I had the mag but now can't find it, it had colour pics of both the updated model and the real ships to illustrate the changes/details. I think it may have been a Model Boats or a Scale Models article, not an Airfix Magazine one nor one of those terrible US mags in their 1950's format.

Can anyone help with what mag/issue I'm looking for as I've turned my library upside down several times and I've got the ship build bug biting incessantly again?

Also on a related subject I'm looking for another article in a mag I can't find for detailing the Matchbox 1/700 scale HMS Exeter, as I carried out the mods when building mine as a schoolboy in 1979 (?) the mag obviously came from around then. I would like to find this as I've another Exeter to build (an Ebay pressie) and would like to know what was required as I know I skipped some bits as a kid. I have a notion that it was a "Scale Models" issue but I can't be 100% sure.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated,

The article for updating the RN Type 21 frigates was in "Marine Modelling Monthly", December 1993, Warships pgs. 30-33. I had made photocopies of the article in case I lost the mag and placed them in my A3 reference file for the Glynn Guest 1/144scale Type 21 stand off RC frigate, 'spose I should've looked more thoroughly but anyway ...........

The article for the Matchbox HMS Exeter was in MAP Publications "Scale Models" November 1977. I just purchased the mag again (can't find mine still) from Ebay and now wait with baited breath for it to arrive !

Modern Combat Ships 5 Type 21 by John Lippiett could be also very useful.

That's not a bad book, I've had mine for a long while and it is a good source of info on the Type 21s, but I also found it very worthwhile to just Google search the class too as the results you can turn up are surprising.

But I always have to temper my remarks with saying you should make sure of the time period that you are modelling your subject in with reference to the ship's fit (or lack of) at that time. Some Type 21s did not receive items that others sisters did, so check your refs!

Many many thanks for sending me the link. Already downloaded it and I am sure it will help a lot.

The mentioned book is also a good hint. Will look for it.

Those type 21 are really tricky and the Airfix kit is based in its early version. I am searching the web for as many references as possible. I will build the Arrow, since it is well documented.

Have a look - I already waterlined the hull, set up the display base and will start building it soon.

Finished it yesterday, adding the PE set released by Flyhawk for the Dragon Antelope. In spite of being 1/700, the Flyhawk set pieces match the 1/600 kit very well.
