SS Majestic 1890-1904ish plans wanted

Post by CNH »

Hello all,

Does anybody have a copy of any plans (preferably with hull sections) of this ship, or know of where I might be able to obtain a set, please?

It is the two-stack White Star line ship built at Harland and Wolfe I am interested in, not the 3-stack German one.

Many thanks for any help.

Hi Chris,

the whole archive funds from H&W has been transfered to the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, but it seems they were for a time unable to sort it out.

You have also to be aware that a lot of plans were destroyed some time ago, before the transfer.

Hoping you'll find your answers there. If not, try the NMM at Greenwich, they might be able to help you if "Majestic" ever has been commissionned by the Royal Navy or the MWT as a trooper or hospital ship.

Hi Chris

You also may look for her sister, RMS Teutonic.

By the way, Majestic has been called as a trooper during the Boer War in 1901, I'm pretty sure the NMM archives must have something about her...
