Scott,

On a related issue, I've been trying to find 1/350 scale decals for this DesRon 9 emblem: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/5513/cds ... opygs5.jpg If you don't mind, please PM me with what Darren charged you for the DesRon 17 decals. I didn't realize that might be an option.

Thanks again for all your help!

Scott,

Thanks. I shot you a PM in return, but it looks like it may have gotten hung up in the Outbox.

All PMs are in the Outbox until they have been read by the recipient.

@ sutho: thanks for the pics and I can confirm her ops room looks very similar to our german version. regretfully i dont have any scanned pictures others to which I posted already. I well recall your description of full speed, on our way back from tunis top germany, it was her last time (beside a family day on baltic sea) on own power, we went up to slightly over 36knots as the captain reported proudly - after so many years of duty!!!

i real nice lady which indeed was not easy, after a couple of days, at the bay is Biscay, i wave caught be and slighted over the after deck. i had no feeling for her low main deck that i did not realize that waves coming in so fast and easy...

anyway, as you said, a nice time on a nice lady.

Does Darren at Hawke Graphics make custom order decals for ships???? Sounds like a good option if he does.

Yes, he does. Just recognize he's a busy guy and don't give him a time to get it done. He did my decals two months later than I asked and they are perfect...

Hi Guys,
Mardis,
I see hours of masking and minutes of painting! That's how it goes.
Keep up the good work my friend.
Thanks for sharing, Tony

A little help please.

On the Charles F Adams class destroyers. I am trying to find out what the platform on the starboard side of the forward stack was used for. There is some kind of a rectangular box mounted above it. Just thought someone would know.

Without a picture to go on are you talking about the ECM boxes? SLQ-32's...

I added a picture of the platform. The original plans all show this platform.

It's just a landing for the ladder from the O3 level down to the O2 level behind the stack. There's a gangway that snakes around the stack on the starboard side. Pretty much across from where the ladder ends on the O2 level there's another inclined ladder going down to O1 level midships where the ASROC is.

Awesome model. I was stationed aboard Goldy from 1988 to 1992 (just before her decom). Seeing this model brought me back. I hadnt realized how fond of her I was.

Thanks
Steve

please find below some pictures of my build of DDG-20 USS Goldsborough in her last fit prior to decommissioning.
I used the Revell 1/700 CFA kit, Flagship Models PE details, though i did not use the railings.
Thanks to you all for the great input on this site as it helped my build of this kit!
