Arthur J Marder�s five-volume series From the Dreadnought to Scapa Flow, originally published between 1961 and 1970, is being republished by Seaforth Books.

According to the publisher's website, the first two volumes are due on 31 May 2013.

Volume I: The Road to War 1904-1914, 488 pages, ISBN: 9781848321625.
Volume II: To the Eve of Jutland 1914-1916, 496 pages, ISBN: 9781848321632.

The five volumes were subtitled The Royal Navy in the Fisher Era, 1904�1919 and they are still, despite recent major contributions from Robert Massie and Andrew Gordon, regarded by many as the definitive history of naval events leading up to and including the Great War.

Hmm. They aren't listed for publication until December in North America. As to whether they are worth having; absolutely. If you are interested in the history of the Royal Navy in WWI of course (and to a lesser extent the High Seas Fleet. Wish there was an equivalent history of that in English, but alas, this might have to do). Wonderfully written and thorough accounts. Have read all but the last volume. Hope all will see reprinting - as only two are so far listed. I am looking forward to reading the intro by Barry Gough - he was my professor for a college class on naval history, once upon a time.

Half way through Volume 1 and highly recommended if you are interested in this period of Naval History.
Finding it very readable.
