how do you make naval flags?

Dear friends, normally build modern warships in 1/350 scale but I need some advice from you who are experienced modellers .... How do you play naval flags? .... the ones supplied in the kit are decals and I dont know how to make them realistic and, above all, reproduce the folds caused by wind.

What I do is this for any decal flags: take a scrap of aluminum foil wrap and smooth it out, prime it with Tamiya white primer on both sides, take my flag decal and carefully fold it over the edge of the foil making sure the flag is placed evenly and centered on both sides. Brush on Solvoset (any setting agent compatible with the decal). When dry carefully cut out and make folds and creases around a round toothpick. The foil and paint etc. will add hardly any weight to the flag so you can super-glue it to the halyard.

his is a great way ... really intelligent. I'll try it . but I have another problem ... I realized that the flag decals supplied in the kit (I'm finishing the USS TICONDEROGA CG 47) has only one face!!!!!!

Print them with an inkjet on tissue paper. Use the type of paper that stores use with gift-boxes, it has a has a slightly hardened or glossy finish.

Print the flag on a regular piece of paper, then tape a square of tissue over that and print again.

You can cut out some extra on the halyard end to wrap around the halyard, or simply butt-glue onto the halyard.

The examples below are all tissue flags.
