No way man, you are braver than I. There is enough to correct on this ship without that. That being said, absolutely friggin awesome job. They look way better than the molded on canisters.

Thank you, guys. The WEM airwing etches are still not yet delivered, so, tried something to do to kill time.

Re: Trumpeter 1/350 Nimitz
Nice job, and that is a hell of a detail to tackle, requiring a ton of boring repetative work!
Unfortunately, and it may be too late to remedy, I think you installed the racks incorrectly. The top of the rack should be more or less even wiht the top of the rail/ bulkhead. It looks like you installed them with the bottom of the rack even with the bottom of the rail / bulkhead, which would make the top canister several feet above the top rail on the real ship.
It is a detail that a lot of people would not notice so it is just up to you if it is worth trying to fix or not.
You may have detail pictures of the early Nimitz that I have not seen, so my comment is just based off of the many detail pictures that are more recent which I have studied ad-nausium!

Hi Ryan,
thank you for your remark. Agreed. They look much better after the re-arrangement. BTW, not so much time to fix - 26 racks from the starboard I've fixed for one hour. Also, using this issue, I drawed a black line in the middle of canister.

Happy to help, glad it was not too much extra work to fix.

Small update for today. Not so many time to work on Nimitz on this week - a lot of Java courses.

You should put a little figure of a pilot, standing at the edge of the elevator and throwing some dog tags out to sea.

All 210 canisters re-arranged. They look like on the picture above, so, didn't take new photos. Well... Found a bug in the kit - vertical yellow stick on transom. Look at the pictures below:

2.

but in real life:

and attach (screenshot from the Final Countdown).
I think to move it (btw, what is that?) to left to fit the center of yellow line.
Okay. Today I did bow's antennas and safety nets, painting them right now.

Re: Trumpeter 1/350 Nimitz
Thanks, guys.
Working today on deck tractors from Black Dog. A quick one - how many tractors are yellow, and how many - white or other colors?
There are 12 yellows on a kit box and 4 are white. Seems to be right, please confirm.

Re: Trumpeter 1/350 Nimitz
Well... How many of each?
Sorry for my question - don't know how tow tractor differs from the fire one.

Re: Trumpeter 1/350 Nimitz
Good question. Check reference photos of flight deck ops or find a copy of The Final Countdown to get a good idea, that is what I based my flight deck equipment on. I only used one white fire truck and six tow tractors and it looks busy enough.

Re: Trumpeter 1/350 Nimitz
I used three fire trucks. One at the very front of the bow, one at the waist and one at the island.
