Really outstanding, this detail set seems to be a big improvement compared with the Bismarck set. I wonder what improvements you will generate in the future! For example, when will the guns even shoot ??? Just kidding!
You PONTOS guys, you are making a brilliant Job! :wave_1: :thumbs_up_1:

We all thought the Bismarck set was top notch until we found how bad the instructions were.
One can but hope something is done to improve them for this set ..................but the Bismarck is still being sold with incorrect and incomplete instructions after all the complaints on this site.
Best of luck - but as said before, l for one will keeping standing well back to see what is reported a couple of months down the line.

I see where Pontos says they have learned from the Bismarck and will have improved instructions with the Missouri set. I, for one, am looking forward to receiving this set and have already placed a pre-order for it. I think the posted photos speak to the quality we can expect.

Amazing! Thank you for posting photos. I find that downloading these images will also help with the build along with whatever instructions you provide. This is looking like an outstanding set! Still wondering if the 20mm will be capable of any movement? Up and Down? Someday figures may be created for use with them, so for different poses, this may be a big help. Perfectly acceptable if not. Looking forward to seeing the deck! I don't see any solder in your pics... What are you using to connect all the parts?

20mm pedestal is one closed type so height can't be realized. And some tilting maybe possible but mainly fixed at normal standing type. (though this is 1/200 scale there is limit in expression)

Will this be easy to rescale of the Tamiya 1/350 version? I am assuming that is still on the drawing board for you guys?

I ordered my set on Friday, along with the teak deck. Can't wait to see them. The early pics look stupendous.

I am really impressed with this detail set. I plan to purchase the MISSOURI and build her as NEW JERSEY - 1967-69 - Vietnam Era. I served aboard her during that time period and wanted something more than the 1:350 kits offered, but not monsterous like the 1:96 models. This should do nicely.

I joined the forum to keep up with other's builds using the Trumpeter 1:200 kit and the various detail sets. While I won't be using the 40mm or 20mm mounts, and the radars and directors will be modified (modernized), the Pontos set will obviously be an asset to the overall quality of the model.

Mr. Kim,

Deck detail: Please, please, please, get the waterways right. They are the width of the chocks on the main deck (18 inches) and 12 inches in the 01 and above. This thing is too big not to include this overlooked detail.

... What a great set Kim! I love it and I want it! :)

Will there be an option or an other kit available to upgrade the Missouri to Vietnam or Desert Storm version?

Best regards

That's really impressive Kim! I'm hoping you'll do a set for the Gallery Models Intrepid when it comes out... (hint hint)

Welcome aboard again.
If Trumpeter would not release other era versions we may try.
