Hello Daniel,
Thank you for your comment.
During 3 years, I studied the photographic archives of nav.source and one day I understood that I owed a big salute to the men of the photographic department of the US NAVY. On the site of Mare Island, it exists, I believe 72000 or 74000 photos, following ones all the works executed on the diverse ships which passed between 1942 and 1945 there.
Once again, I pay tribute to these men and to the site of nav.source.
From a long time, this post is inactive but I keep in reserve some small models which will come to take a place there.
See you soon I hope! :wave_1:
Kind regards,
Jean

Hello, On ARD I used "haze grey" lightly cleared, with brown-rust juices.
I am very happy to see that my diorama is still appreciated :eyebrows:

Hello,
Thank you Nicolas, Rob and Sam for your messages.
The diorama of Mare Island is still not completely finished, for now I miss especially the courage to get back to it but it will come, one day or another. . . :sleepy:

Jean

You need to get back to work on this beautiful master piece, it is far to great to let it sit around needing attention. Now get to it and lets get some work done, I need my inspiration back!!!!

Hi Jim,
I am very flattered by your comment, your diorama is very beautiful and I like to follow him from time to time.

Chez Jean and Bruno... :wave_1:

this most inspiring and fascinating thread of sheer modelling quality and ingenuity has been comprehensively
ruined by the blackmailing e-vandals @ photo-bucket !! ( :mad_1: :mad_2:

I would hope you still have the images on a non-e photo hosting location...?( ie on yoiur PC;s... :cool_2: )

and was wondering if...

==> for the sake of future generations of modellers , if it is possible to (re-) upload some,-- or all of the missing images?

if not-- maybe make a posting of images of some of the completed individual models and the completed diorama ?

I realise this is potentially time consuming and I can assist with up-loading
--but alas--...- not installing images into the thread in the relevant or correct positions

Please consider my request favourably ( hint hint! ) :thumbs_up_1:

Hi Jim,
As you say, it is the wrong choice of "photo-bucket" that ruined this post. I am currently trying to restore the French version with a new image host, but, there is a problem with the publication of these photos on "model-warships", they seem to be too heavy for this forum, and it is very boring, and very long, to have to convert them again.
As soon as I finish the French version I will take care of this version "model-warships".
Thank you for your interest in this diorama that asked me so much work!
I think it will not be possible to replace the photos in their original sites, I would rather create a new post with a slightly different title.
Sincerely,
Jean
