You and Ryan are just speeding thru building these monsters. If there is a black-belt for modeling the Nimitz-class, you guys will have to fight over it
Coming along very nicely!

Still having back and shoulder issues but I managed a sit down today at the bench. Finished prepping for catwalk installation, starting with port bow and working around.

I also added the under deck catwalk on the port side. The catwalk is just held in place still some touch up needed where the PE attaches to the kit wall and where the kit wall contacts the hull.

Lastly, the #3 elevator will be in the down position so I added a few details plus began working on the crane platform.

Hey, looking great James. You are doing some spectacular work on this. I will be checking your building process of the catwalks as I am still planning on how I am going to get mine done. Great job, hope your shoulder gets better soon.

All outer catwalks are done. The hull will get repainted and weathered next and then on to installing all the little bits on the catwalks and the various platforms. I had to build a new frame for the LSO safety net after re configuring the surrounding catwalks for a late fit IKE.

Lovely detail in those catwalks mate, it really comes together nicely. Can't wait to see Ike with some paint on!

Re: 2011/2012 USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1/350.
Thanks guys. I know these updates are boring but such is life at times. All the ugly tape is removed from her hull and a couple issues of paint bleed fixed.(Thanks to multiple coats of future and flat, a light sanding takes care of that) Over the next few days, I will be trying new techniques for hull weathering. IKE is in dry dock right now and some very very beautiful shots of her tired hull have been posted online which makes it easier. This time the anti fouling paint will get some distress. So this is where I leave it for now.
