Post by krako »

Hello all. I'm looking reference materials of ship S S Djurma(S S Brielle , SS Dzhurma). In the internet I found only a few pictures pictures but only two of them are medium quality. I want to model this ship but without reference materials I can not. I needs especially blueprints. Plz help me:] give me a hint where to look for :] This ship is very important for me.

Brielle was built at Rotterdam Droogdok in 1921, yard number 106.
Low quality scans of the general plans of Brielle can be found at
http://www.shipmotions.nl/RDM/RDM/RDM-106.html
Rotterdam Drydock's orginal yard plans are held at the library of the Rotterdam Maritime Museum. The library codes for yard numbers 100-110 is TS 9457. These do not seem to be digitized so I'm not sure if it is possible to order copies of them. They can be reached through a contact form at http://www.maritiemmuseum.nl/website/in ... ailform-qa

When looking for pictures one can also look for direct sister ship "Breda". Rotterdam Drydock 107.
Cheers,
Pieter

Interesting. The scans on this website are lifted from my book -- without credit I might add.

I have full size copies of the plans for Brielle from Rotterdam. I have scanned them into a large file which I would be prepared to send if you provide an email address.

Hi Marty, before I remove the link I'd like you to be bit more specific about the ownership of the drawings. I assume you have already been in contact with the site owner. As these drawings are more than 70 years old their status is complicated under dutch law. What you can protect is probably your research and this may explain the "AC" mark and maybe scanner / picture details in the layout.
The first, side view, drawing is from a publication called "Het Schip". Current copyright holder for "Het Schip" is swz maritime, http://www.swzonline.nl/.
The second scan of drawings are yard drawings from RDM itself and are probably the drawings you refer to. All assets of RDM (which managed to get broke both in 1983 and 1996) are currently held by the City of Rotterdam which put the yards' older drawings in care of the Rotterdam Maritime Museum which is probably the current copyright holder.
Cheers,
Pieter
