The book did indeed sound terrific. Unfortunately, Amazon saw fit to cancel my pre-order last night and now has the book listed as out of print with limited availability and no option to buy or pre-order.

The US Naval Institute will publish and distribute this book for the North American market in May 2014 according to their website. Bummer for those of us wanting this book for Christmas but the wait will be worth it I am sure! Seaforth is the original publisher and they handle titles for the European market. Amazon(US) has yet to list the Naval Institure Press version but I am sure they will soon enough. Like Burt's trilogy on British Battleships, Seaforth republished them first and then the Naval Institute Press picked it up for North America a few months later.

The Seaforth publication SHOULD be available from The Book Depository (located in Guernsey); this firm usually ships FREE world-wide.
I prefer Seaforth/UK prints to Naval Institute Press editions. With certain exceptions, I have found the UK volumes somewhat better in paper quality, binding, and overall a better value.
I don't like to wait for NIP to get their copycat act together.
