Thanks, Nicolas. I'm really looking forward to moving on from this build...

I've effectively finished her air wing. I MAY add some antennae and rigging, depending on time. I haven't decided. I'm going to hit the Zeppelin with a small flashlight one last time to check for exposed brass and then glue down the aircraft. I'm currently making some deck equipment (boxes, hoses, etc) and crew to giver the ship some life. I also plan to add a LITTLE more weathering to the flight deck, but don't want to go too far...

Assuming an easy time rigging, this should be done by Sunday! Assuming.

Thanks, Nicholas, as always. Your praise is always welcome.

Bob: Right? I just found a 1/72 Fi-167 torpedo bomber because these German naval planes are so.. fascinating. I want to find one of the Bf-109t and naval Ju-87's badly.

All planes are glued down! I've added these uh, barrier things (anyone shed light on what these are?) and started added some hose piles to the deck for detail. I'll be adding some other bits and crew tomorrow. She'll be rigged, then dull coated. Final steps on the ship will come with a last sweet of brass or "shiny" spots. I'll then finish the bow wave and buff up the water.

Added some skid spots where planes would touch down and hook the arrestor cables.

I added her crew. It shocks me how much adding some silly little chunks of PE and paint and liven a ship. I've also been cleaning up paint where I see issues and have started some of the rigging with Caenis. I'll be using that and spure, depending on application.

She's looking alive and I love it.

Hopefully, I'll finish her rigging tomorrow and dump a dullcoat on the hull. Once I'm done with that, I'll finish the water, yank the tape around it, and stain the base. That'll be the end of this one!

Thank you, gentlemen. I was against building another carrier until I saw how she came out with all the activity on deck. I have a few in the stash (1930's Sara with all the bells and whistles ready) and may just jump into one again.

Damn nice build man!!! Never give up! :thumbs_up_1:

That reversed shot looks neat too although I'm imagining meatballs on the deck

Thanks, Cliffy B. I'm at the end of the road. Other than a protective layer on the wood and replacing a Fumo radar I knocked off the bow, she's done!

Well done. I've been following this most of the way, the build came together wonderfully and you have a fine and pretty unique aircraft carrier there. Keep up the good work! :thumbs_up_1:

Thanks guys. I'm REALLY glad to be done with this, especially after the near disaster with the water. I've been messing with some resin on the side and I THINK I've got the stuff down well enough to avoid the same issue again. I'm currently working on a Scharnhorst that'll be utterly inundated at her bow, due to heavy seas. We'll see how it turns out.

I do want to send out a huge THANK YOU to Chris Flodberg (sargentx) for his help with the water.
