How to scratchbuild deck cleats
Any one have any techniques for scratchbuilding deck cleats.... looking for the type that face each other like two horns with points facing... 1/350 scale.

Actually... I can be a bit more specific.. what I'm looking for is advice on how to model these in 1/350 or so scale. A deck Chock, not a cleat..

If it is one of these

Take a strip of styrene with the correct width/thickness (e.g., Evergreen strip). Drill two holes, side by side, near the end of the strip. Cut out the center between the holes with a fine-tipped knife and finish off the center with a very fine file. Cut the tip of the strip and sand in the roundness of the chock; cut to size. Make millions, keep the best.

You could use EJ's technique but just cut out the centre part of the top of the strip as well. Take a strip of about 1mm thickness and it should work and be in approx. scale.
